A HUGE thank you to Kailey Barnes! Kailey was Sebastian's bus buddy at school and on her birthday (May 27th) she shaved her head in support of Children diagnosed with cancer. She donated her beautiful ginger locks to Wigs for Kids and asked friends and family to make monetary donations to Sebastian's Superheroes! The grand prize, an overnight accomodation with dinner and breakfast at the Elm Hurst Inn & Spa, was awarded Sunday night (after the Oscars) to the person who chose the most Oscar winners. Sebastian's Superheroes would like to thank Raquel Rodrigues and friends for organizing, volunteering and running the event. They raised $3,217.51 for Sebastian's Superheroes bringing their 5 year total to $12,287.63!

On June 29th Luis, Monica and Carolina had the honour of attending Sir Arthur Carty’s grade 8 graduation. This would’ve been Sebastian’s graduation. In memory of Sebastian the school created an annual Sebastian Oliveira award which is presented to the graduate that shows similar qualities to Sebastian...perseverance, determination, positivity, etc. Thank you to Mr. Heffernan (current principal) and all the staff at SAC for including Sebastian in all aspects of the ceremony. Thank you to Stephanie and Natalie (the valedictorians) for remembering Sebastian in their speech. Congratulations to Sally, the 1st recipient of the Sebastian award. Congratulations to all the graduates. Thank you to Mr. Babington (former principal) who presented the award with Carolina and whose heartfelt words and wonderful memories of Sebastian had most of the audience in tears. And a very special thank you to the Grad Committee, which is made up of the graduates parents, they organized a wonderful graduation and still managed to donate $150 to Sebastian's Superheroes!

Sebastian Superheroes would like to thank HardKnocks 365 for hosting the unofficial Chive Party at Smoke-N-Bones on July 20th. A big thank you to all of the Chivers and Chivettes who attended the event and made it a great success. Through their fun contests, games and draws, HardKnocks 365 was able to raise $1,840 in which they graciously donated to Sebastian's Superheroes!

Sebastian's Superheroes is pleased to announce that the London Mini Stars BBQ held on Saturday, August 24th, raised a total of $733.10. Ray Agro (April 23, 1949 – November 14, 2011) was diagnosed with Sarcoma cancer in December 2010. Ray and his wife Patricia were so inspired by Sebastian’s courage and determination that when Ray passed his family decided that in lieu of flowers they preferred to have their family and friends donate to Sebastian’s Superheroes. Thank you to Kelly and Don from Express Employment Professionals who cycled 75 km from London to St. Joseph's (just outside of Grand Bend) to support Sebastian's Superheroes on October 1, 2011. They cycled mostly uphill against the wind with gusts up to 60 km/hr, and after a 5.5 hour journey, they arrived at their destination. Pictures available in our photo gallery. Thank you to Aaron Lauterbach from Sunlife Financial who ran a vendor booth at Henderson Memorial Soccer Tournament, held in London. Another big thank you to Agent Realty who donated a Caribbean Cruise for 2. In order to qualify participants had 3 shots at a target in a goal net. All the money raised at the booth was generously donated to Sebastian's Superheroes.

Bakers for a Cause hosted a bake sale fundraiser on Monday June 20, 2011 at the Prescription Centre at London Health Sciences Centre. Thank you to all the wonderful bakers and to everyone who came out and made the bake sale a great success!
On June 15, 2011, the employees from Leads Employment Services took time out of their day to organize and run a BBQ fundraiser. The employees continued their fundraising initiative with office Dress Down Days to support Sebastian's Superheroes.
Thank you to all the students and teachers from the After School Program at Lord Roberts School who organized and participated at the car wash on May 30 and 31, 2011. You did a wonderful job and the car wash was a great success!
Cello Supper Club hosted a Facebook fundraiser during the month of June where they donated 50¢ for every "Like" they had on their Facebook page. After receiving 602 "likes", Cello generously changed their contribution from 50¢ to $1.00 for a grand total of $602.00 donated to Sebastian's Superheroes!
During the month of June students purchased pins and t-shirts to show their support as Sebastian's Superheroes. Thank you to everyone who participated during the t-shirt drive!
